A sensational pornography trial leads to a sexually charged relationship between the prosecutor and the book's author. When arch conservative and Priscilla is assigned to prosecute author Trehearne, she believes in her mission to protect the public from filthy writing and ideas. Priscilla is certain it will be an easy case to win... she is personally horrified by the book's explicit descriptions of all sorts of sex and perversions... and she is confident of the support of the Court and the public. In court the book is studied story by story and her discomfort mounts as Trehearne defends his ideas and even let's slip that the tales might be fact and not just fantasies. They may be true and, worse still, she may be prosecuting the man who featured in some of these terrible stories. She cannot understand how Trehearne could have done these things; much less put them in a book for the entire world to share. Under attack from the author, the media and the public, Priscilla's arch conservative ideas about sex begin to crumble. As her self-confidence ebbs it begins to look as if Trehearne will win the media war, the case and even Priscilla herself.
